Your Obligations
Unlike with a commercial car hire firm, such as Hertz, our vehicles are not checked by the Car Club between uses by members.
The Car Club is responsible for ensuring that its vehicles :
- be registered with the DVLA;
- have up to date vehicle tax; and
- have a current MOT certificate.
Only current members of Hook Norton Car Club who agree with its current Terms and Conditions are permitted and legally able to drive our vehicles.
If you are a member who wishes to use one of the Club’s cars you are reminded that at all times whilst the car is in your care you are responsible for ensuring that:
- the vehicle is roadworthy;
- you meet the minimum eyesight rules;
- you have previously made the the Car Club aware of any motoring or criminal convictions you have received within the last five years, including offences dealt with by way of a fixed penalty;
- you have made the Car Club aware of any and all medical condition(s) you have or have developed;
- you comply with the requirements of the Highway Code; and
- you comply with any and all other legal obligations for drivers, including legal requirements in relation to driving whilst under the influence of drink or drugs.
