Start of Rental Checks

Before commencing a rental, all members are reminded of their legal obligations and their obligations to the Hook Norton Car Club as specified in the Terms and Conditions of Membership. For further details please see the Your Obligations page.

Prior to driving any of our vehicles members are required to check:

• the vehicle is legally safe to drive;
• the vehicle is fully charged;
• that the previous user has left no evidence of the following in the vehicle:
  • food (crumbs, packaging, etc.)
  • drink (stains, sticky residue, etc.)
  • odour (smoking, pets, etc.)
  • pets (hair, dander, paw prints, etc.)
  • dirt from transporting goods or materials (including plants);
  • unreasonable mess, such as
    • marks on seats; or
    • excessive mud on floor mats;
• that there are no warning lights or messages displayed when the vehicle is switched on, including
  • tyre pressure warnings; and/or
  • washer fluid levels; and
• that there is no unrecorded exterior damage to the vehicle.

If you find that there are issues with any of the above, you must take photographs of the issue(s) and of the odometer to evidence that this was found at the start of your rental. These photographs and details of the issue(s) must be emailed to carclub@hn-lc.org.uk not more than 24 hours after the issue(s) came to light.
