Quotes from the launch event included ‘Just brilliant I want to take it home with me’, ‘Okay I want one! It’s great; it’s like riding on the flat, it’s so easy!’, and ‘I love it, it’s life changing’.

How it works:

We are closing the eBikes hire scheme at the end of the 2025 season (Autumn). Only existing HNLC eBike members will be able to book out eBikes up to then, or until their membership runs out.

If you are a current subscribed eBike member, the bikes are booked via the Supersaas website where you can check availability and book your bike.  You will be invoiced for your usage at the end of each month, and you then can pay your invoice by bank transfer.

The bikes live at the Sports and Social club, and there are even helmets and panniers available, if you need them.

We would like to thank all users of the HNLC eBikes for the past 10 years, many of which we know have gone on to buy their own eBikes to continue to enjoy the scenery in our local area.

What started as a project by Compass Bikes, with Hook Norton being one of eleven areas funded by the Department of Transport’s Shared Electric Bike Programme, expanded into many years of access for our community, all run by volunteers, and enabled so many people to try out what was a novel, unknown, sustainable mode of transport. We’re so proud to have helped convert so many to travel by bike!
